Klerksdorp, North West – An unidentified woman believed to be in her 30s was allegedly mauled to death by dogs in the early hours of Friday morning in Magaretha Prinsloo Street in Klerksdorp.
According to the South African Police Service, the incident was reported at about 05:45 on Friday, 5 June 2026, after a man from a nearby residence discovered the body while on his way to work.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and no eyewitnesses have yet come forward.
The woman has also not been identified.
Eight dogs found at a nearby property were removed by the SPCA and subsequently euthanised.
The South African Police Service has opened an inquest docket as investigations continue into the incident.
