Cape Town – Award-winning rapper Emtee has issued a heartfelt public apology, taking responsibility for the personal turmoil that has dominated headlines in recent months.
In a lengthy statement shared on 6 August 2026, the Roll Up hitmaker addressed his co-parenting conflict with ex-wife Nicole Chinsamy, apologising to her, their children and his supporters while acknowledging the impact of his actions.
“Over the past months, my personal life has unfolded in the public eye in ways that have affected not only me, but also people I deeply care about,” Emtee said.
The rapper offered a direct apology to Nicole, admitting there were times he could have handled their relationship with greater empathy and maturity.
“I am sincerely sorry for the pain, disappointment and emotional strain that our journey has caused you. While no relationship is without its challenges, I acknowledge that there are moments where I could have shown greater understanding, compassion and maturity. For that, I offer my heartfelt apology,” the statement read.
Emtee also expressed remorse to his children, saying they should never have been exposed to their parents’ private struggles.

“To my children, I am deeply sorry that they have had to witness aspects of our personal lives become public. They deserve love, stability and parents who place their well-being above everything else. My commitment to them remains unwavering,” he said.
The musician confirmed that he would not discuss matters currently before the courts, saying he intends to respect the legal process and allow it to take its course.
“Out of respect for everyone involved, I will not be commenting on matters that are currently before the courts. I remain committed to following the legal process with respect and dignity.”
Closing his statement, Emtee appealed for privacy for both families and thanked his supporters for standing by him while holding him accountable.
“I ask for privacy and grace for both our families as we navigate this chapter separately. My hope is that time brings healing, peace and healthier paths for everyone involved. To my supporters, thank you for standing by me while also encouraging me to be better. I do not take your support for granted and I understand that trust is earned through actions. I wish Nicole nothing but peace, healing and happiness as we both move forward.”
