Cape Town – National Coloured Congress (NCC) leader Fadiel Adams has accused police of intimidation and unlawful conduct following an alleged early morning raid at a property he previously occupied in Mitchells Plain on Saturday.
Adams claims that around 04:00, approximately 15 police officers arrived at the Westridge home in Cape Town, wearing balaclavas and allegedly without any visible identification.
According to Adams, the occupants of the house at the time – a woman and her children – were subjected to harassment during the operation.
He further alleged that officers failed to produce a search warrant.

“He said the officers targeted the wrong address, as he had moved out of the property about two months ago,” security activist Yusuf Abramjee said in a post on social media.
He added: “The home is now occupied by a teacher and her family, who were reportedly left traumatised by the incident. Adams alleged that the woman’s 12-year-old son was assaulted during the operation.
“Adams claimed the raid was not a legitimate police operation, but an attempt to intimidate or possibly kidnap him.”

The MP said he has since opened an intimidation complaint against the South African Police Service and expressed concern for his safety.
“He believes he is being targeted because he is a witness in cases involving suspended Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola, KwaZulu-Natal Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, and Crime Intelligence head Dumisani Khumalo. Adams said he has submitted an affidavit detailing the incident and now lives in fear for his safety and that of his family,” Abramjee said.
National Coloured Congress MP Fadiel Adams claims a discredited PKTT unit stormed a Mitchells Plain home searching for him without a warrant. He argues that the incident reflects the police’s broader disregard for the law.
