Durban – Police in KwaZulu-Natal have arrested five suspects following a robbery at a jewellery store in a shopping mall in Umhlanga, recovering items worth an estimated R3 million.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) said the suspects, aged between 20 and 44, were apprehended in Umlazi in the early hours of Monday after a coordinated operation by the Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit and the eThekwini District Task Team.
The robbery took place on Sunday, 12 April 2026.
The suspects have been charged with business robbery and attempted murder. They are expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 15 April 2026.
Police confirmed that investigations into the case are ongoing.
