Phoenix – A 58-year-old woman and her 28-year-old daughter have reported an alleged recurring harassment incident after used and unopened condoms were repeatedly left outside their home in Whetstone, Phoenix, KwaZulu-Natal.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) said the women reported that the incidents had occurred every Wednesday for the past four weeks.
The mother and her daughter, who have lived in Unit 11, Whetstone, for about 20 years, contacted RUSA after the latest discovery on Wednesday, 19 August 2026.
“According to the woman, her mother has woken up on each of the past four Wednesday mornings to find two unopened condom packages and a used condom placed on the lawn in-front of the doorstep of their residence,” RUSA said.
The daughter told RUSA that the packaging, colour and flavour of the condoms had remained the same during each incident.
“She stated that the packaging, colour and flavour have remained identical on each occasion and that the items were discovered exclusively on Wednesday mornings,” the emergency response unit said.
The latest items were allegedly discovered by the mother at about 06:00 on Wednesday. Her daughter photographed them before contacting RUSA for assistance.
RUSA said the women were concerned that the repeated incidents could be deliberate and that an unknown person or people might be targeting them.
“Concerned that the repeated incidents may be deliberate and that an unknown individual or individuals could be targeting them, the woman contacted the RUSA Headquarters for assistance,” the organisation said.
The 28-year-old woman, who works part-time as a mental health therapist, also told RUSA that she had recently been involved in a dispute with neighbours.
However, she could not establish whether the dispute was connected to the alleged harassment.
The circumstances surrounding the incidents remain unclear, and no suspect has been identified in the statement.
RUSA said images of the items were documented as part of the report, with sensitive material pixelated in one of the images.
