Limpopo – A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after he allegedly attacked and stabbed his pregnant girlfriend with a glass object in Tseseng, Limpopo.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the incident happened in the early hours of Thursday, 18 June 2026, when the 20-year-old woman was sleeping at her residence.
The woman was immediately assisted, taken to the police station for further processing and later transported to hospital for medical treatment.
The suspect was arrested and detained. He is expected to appear before the Tseseng Magistrate’s Court on charges of attempted murder.
SAPS said the case forms part of ongoing efforts to combat gender-based violence and called on communities to continue reporting incidents of abuse.
