Phoenix – A man was found dead with his legs bound together in a parking lot at Gandhi Park in Phoenix, KwaZulu-Natal, on Sunday morning.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa, the body was discovered shortly after 07:00 by a passerby who alerted emergency responders.
“Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the park at approximately 07:09 after a passerby discovered a male lying motionless in the parking lot,” the organisation said in a statement.
On arrival at the scene, reaction officers found the man lying on the ground with visible injuries.
“Reaction Officers found the man lying on the ground with blood visible from certain parts of his body. He is believed to have been stabbed,” RUSA said.
The organisation further revealed that the victim’s legs had been tied together.
“His legs were bound together with a shoelace and he was confirmed deceased on scene,” the statement added.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
