Cape Town – The family of a Western Cape woman who disappeared 14 years ago is appealing to the public for information that could help establish her whereabouts.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) said 45-year-old Jenny-Lee Janse van Rensburg has been missing since February 2012, when she was last seen by family members at Pollsmoor Prison in Tokai, Cape Town.
According to RUSA, Janse van Rensburg’s father last saw her on 7 February 2012. She was subsequently released on bail on 24 February, but her family does not know who posted bail for her.
“The reason for her incarceration is unknown,” RUSA said in a statement.
The organisation said a missing-person case was initially registered in the Western Cape in 2012 and had been followed up over the years.
Records linked to another case later indicated that Janse van Rensburg’s address had been registered with the South African Police Service (SAPS) in June 2014 as Siveright Street in Krugersdorp, Gauteng.
“A new Missing Person case was registered in 2026 and remains active,” RUSA said.
The circumstances surrounding Janse van Rensburg’s disappearance remain unclear, and there has been no confirmed information about her whereabouts since she was last seen.
RUSA has appealed to anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation to come forward.
“Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is requested to contact Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) on 086 1234 333,” the organisation said.
RUSA has also urged members of the public to share the appeal in the hope that someone with information may come forward and help reunite Janse van Rensburg with her family.
