Cape Town – A Dubai-based South African expatriate has won Dh5 million (about R22 700 000 million) in the UAE Lottery’s Lucky Day Wednesday draw, marking a milestone as the second such prize awarded within two months.
According to Gulf Times, the winner, Branden Tekram (39), described the moment as both shocking and anticipated, saying: “We were in shock, but I told my wife, this is real… We’re going to win it, and I have manifested it into my life.”
Despite the windfall, Tekram said the family’s plans remain unchanged, with the money set to support an existing goal.
The AED 5,000,000 prize has officially been won. 💫
But that’s not all — last night’s draw had 2,369 winners across the UAE. 🎊One unforgettable moment and thousands more celebrating tonight. ✨

“For us, the plans don’t change… this is actually going to help us realise that project, that dream of ours,” he said.
The draw forms part of the expanding UAE Lottery, which recently introduced Wednesday draws to increase winning opportunities, alongside its main prizes and additional cash rewards.
