Cape Town – A viral video has emerged in which Big Brother Mzansi season 3 contestant, Rethabile “Dinkybliss” Potsane appears to be in an emotional state and says that she “fears for her life” and that feels like she is a “threat” to herself.
Dinkybliss reportedly died in the early hours of Sunday.
According to a statement by the family, the cause of death has not yet been determined.
“It is with deep sadness that we share the news that Rethabile Potsane also known as DInkybliss has passed away in the early hours of today at Hillbrow Clinic.
“More details will follow in due course. At the moment the family is still shocked and grieving,” the statement read.
Speculation that Rethabile committed suicide arose on social media. However, the late media personality’s management rejected these claims.
“As her manager I can 100% confirm that she didn’t commit suicide nor [did] she pass away due to ‘depression’. Details of the cause of her death will be released as soon as the doctors get back with the test results,” said the management.
In the video that has since gone viral on social media, Dinkybliss is crying while recording the video.
“Whatever that is happening to me now is too much. I haven’t been able to sleep and it scares me because I don’t want to do anything to myself, I’ve got a child…
“I can’t even describe it. I’m in pain and I can’t even describe it to people. Where is this pain coming from… I am fearing for my life. I feel like I’m a threat to myself,” she said before asking people to pray for her.
“I just want you guys to pray for me please,” says Dinkybliss.
Meanwhile Mzanzi Magic paid tribute to the late personality on Twitter.
“Dinkybliss captured the hearts of many South Africans with her outgoing and vibrant personality on the show that solidified her standing as ‘the mover and shaker’,” it said.
