Cape Town – Dr Musa Mthombeni has addressed online rumours suggesting he is cheating on his wife, Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni, after speculation spread on X this week.
The claims surfaced after an X user, @_asemahle_n, questioned the couple’s reduced “lovey-dovey” posts on social media.
Known for sharing moments from their holidays, birthdays and anniversaries, the pair have long been admired as one of South Africa’s favourite celebrity couples.

The post sparked conversation on X, with some users and commentary blogs speculating that there could be “trouble in paradise”.
Dr Mthombeni responded directly to the allegations, dismissing them in a series of posts. “Aowa Bathong. Mina futhi! What fresh lie is it today?” he wrote.

While some social media users continue to speculate, others have defended the doctor, suggesting that the rumours are unfounded and driven by public fascination with his personal life. On his recent post he wrote that, “Eish i should have verified my account before replying to the nonsense so that i can get paid and book a trip no baby girl!.”
