Cape Town – Former Ekurhuleni city manager Imogen Mashazi and the city’s suspended head of human resources, Linda Gxasheka, have been granted bail by the Germiston Magistrate’s Court after spending two nights in custody.
According to IOL, the pair appeared in court on Friday following their arrest on Wednesday.
The State withdrew its opposition to bail after verifying their residential addresses.

Mashazi and Gxasheka were each granted bail of R50,000.
According to The Citizen, the two were arrested on 8 July alongside suspended Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) deputy chief Julius Mkhwanazi and the City of Ekurhuleni’s head of legal and risk services, Khemraj “Kemi” Behari.
The four accused face corruption charges linked to the alleged abuse of public office, unlawful salary adjustments and the obstruction of internal disciplinary processes.
