Cape Town – South African Olympic champion Caster Semenya says that she is unbothered by opinions shared about her on social media.
According to Times Live, Caster’s remarks came as tweeps debated the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruling in favour of sport’s governing body, the IAAF (now World Athletics) that athletes with differences in sexual development (DSDs) had to reduce their testosterone below five nmol/L to compete in the women’s category, causing her not to compete between 400m and the mile since 2019.
Caster took to Twitter to say that social media opinions, debates, criticism, and judgments had no bearing on her.
“So this is my take on this social media thing, when you are busy debating, hating, judging, criticisng and trying to make fun of me, I am all here living my life chilled not having to worry about anyone’s social updates daily but mine without no one’s validation,” wrote Caster.

Love you to death, stuff the haters, they can say whatever they like, doesn’t change a thing. Meeting you at Green Point was the highlight of my 79yrs of life. I ran on that track many times, I was dying to warm down with you. Respect.
