London — Chelsea booked their place in the FA Cup final with a hard‑fought 1-0 victory over Leeds.
Interim boss Calum McFarlane’s side showed renewed intensity and tactical discipline, embracing a streetwise approach that frustrated their opponents at Wembley, Daily Mail reported.
Enzo Fernández scored the decisive header, while £60m striker João Pedro impressed on his return from injury, winning the ball in the build‑up to the goal.

Chelsea’s defence, led by Tosin Adarabioyo, delivered the club’s first clean sheet in 99 days.
The win highlighted four key improvements under McFarlane since Liam Rosenior’s dismissal: higher intensity, stronger duels, purposeful passing, and clinical finishing. Chelsea’s gritty performance, including time‑wasting tactics and provocative celebrations, underscored their willingness to play the “villain” role to secure results.
Victory keeps alive Chelsea’s hopes of silverware and a Europa League spot, while raising questions about the future of several big‑money signings ahead of the summer reset.

According to AFP, Fernández’s first-half strike at Wembley sealed Chelsea’s place in the final against Manchester City, marking a dramatic turnaround after Rosenior’s sacking last week.
Rosenior’s reign ended after five successive defeats without scoring — the club’s worst run since 1912 — and a public fallout with players including Fernández.

Chelsea, eight-time FA Cup winners, are into the final for the 17th time in their history and the first since 2022. They will face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on May 16.
AFP noted that McFarlane, promoted from the club’s Under-21s, has steadied the team and coaxed a more cohesive display, restoring pride after weeks of turmoil.
