Johannesburg – Expelled uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party members Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla and former national spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela are challenging their expulsion from the party in the Johannesburg High Court.
The matter is being heard on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, with court papers also seeking Ndhlela’s reinstatement as a member of Parliament.
The two were expelled after the MK Party accused them of “gross misconduct”, citing a series of actions, public statements and activities involving both Zuma-Sambudla, the daughter of party president Jacob Zuma, and Ndhlela.

The party’s decision followed growing tensions within its ranks and changes to its leadership and communications structures.
Zuma-Sambudla and Ndhlela are now seeking to overturn the expulsions, with their legal challenge placing the party’s decision before the High Court.
The case could determine whether the MK Party followed proper procedures in removing the two members and whether Ndhlela should return to Parliament.
