Friends and political associates have gathered to support the family, who are struggling with the sudden loss.
Moela said that the burial date was set after consultations with the government and the ANC, and further details will be communicated by the state.
Three memorial services are planned for the coming week to honour Mabuza’s legacy.
Meanwhile, ANC first deputy secretary-general Nomvula Mokonyane said the party is pleased with the funeral arrangements coordinated by its provincial structures in collaboration with Mabuza’s family.
Speaking to the media outside Mabuza’s home after offering her condolences, Mokonyane noted that the national government would, in due course, provide further updates on other logistical aspects of the funeral.
