The party further accused her of undermining Parliament’s independence and prioritising political interests over constitutional duty.
Meanwhile, Parliament’s impeachment committee chair Makashule Gana has insisted the inquiry into Ramaphosa will continue, warning that attempts to block it would undermine constitutional accountability and the separation of powers.
The legal dispute stems from Ramaphosa’s application in the Western Cape High Court to halt impeachment proceedings linked to the Section 89 panel report, which found prima facie evidence of potential misconduct. The committee maintains it will proceed with its work despite the ongoing court challenge.
