Ekurhuleni – Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of racing driver Robert Wolk, who was shot dead in Esther Park, Ekurhuleni, on Wednesday.
Wolk was killed at the intersection of Parklands and Cawood Streets in an incident believed to have followed a road-rage confrontation.
The suspects allegedly fled in a blue VW Jetta 5, which police found was linked to two other cases involving hijacking and murder.
The City of Ekurhuleni said a joint intelligence-driven operation involving the EMPD Northern Region Task Team, SAPS Crime Intelligence and Blue Hawks Security led to the arrests.
“One suspect was apprehended in the Spartan area, while two others were arrested at the Enhlanzeni Hostel, together with the vehicle used in the commission of the crime,” the City said.

One of the suspects allegedly led officers to a house at Allandale Farm in Mayibuye, where police recovered a Beretta pistol with a filed-off serial number and 17 rounds of live ammunition.
The firearm is believed to have been used in Wolk’s murder.
The suspects face charges of murder, possession of a suspected hijacked or robbed motor vehicle, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
They are expected to appear in court next week.
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi welcomed the arrests, saying: “We got them!”
