Durban – A business in Mount Vernon, KwaZulu-Natal, has been repeatedly targeted by a suspected thief who has allegedly stolen BMW vehicle parts during a series of early morning break-ins over the past three months.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), officers responded to a business on Old Inanda Road after the owner requested assistance over the ongoing thefts.
The complainant told responding officers that the repeated incidents had resulted in “approximately three months of sleepless nights” as the business continued to suffer losses.
RUSA said the suspect is believed to act alone and allegedly enters the property between 1am and 4am on a regular basis.
According to the business owner, the suspect steals BMW vehicle parts before throwing the items over the property’s boundary wall. He then reportedly leaves the premises, retrieves the stolen parts from outside the wall and escapes in an unknown direction.
The motive for targeting BMW parts was not immediately clear, and the value of the stolen items has not been disclosed.
RUSA has appealed to members of the public for assistance in identifying or locating the suspect.
