Cape Town – Police in the Western Cape are investigating two separate shooting incidents in Makhaza and Endlovini, Harare, in which six men were killed within hours of each other on Sunday night and early Monday morning.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the first incident occurred on Sunday, 24 May 2026, at around 19:30 in Khonkxa Street, Makhaza, where three men aged between 20 and 24 were shot and killed inside an informal dwelling.
Family members reportedly heard gunshots and discovered the victims with multiple gunshot wounds inside the structure.
In a second incident, three adult men in their thirties were shot at a shebeen in Endlovini, Harare, at about 01:38 on Monday morning. The victims were later declared dead after being taken to a medical facility.
SAPS said the suspects in both incidents fled the scenes and have not yet been arrested, while the motive for the shootings remains under investigation.
Police management said resources have been mobilised to track down those responsible.
“SAPS management has assured the affected communities that every available resource will be utilised to trace and apprehend those responsible,” the statement read.
A team of detectives attached to the Serious and Violent Crimes Unit has been assigned to investigate and follow all available leads. Police have also increased deployments and operations in the affected areas to stabilise the situation and prevent further violence.
