Police said the circumstances surrounding both shootings are under investigation, with detectives pursuing all available leads to identify and arrest those responsible.
The motive for the attacks has not yet been established and forms part of the ongoing investigation.
In response to the incidents, police have increased deployments in the affected communities to prevent further violence and improve public safety.
“Members will maintain a visible presence and continue to conduct crime prevention operations aimed at stabilising the communities and ensuring the safety of residents,” SAPS said in a statement.
Police have appealed to anyone with information that could assist the investigations to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or submit information anonymously via the MySAPSApp.
“Western Cape police condemn these acts of violence in the strongest possible terms and remain committed to bringing those responsible to justice,” SAPS said.
