Johannesburg – Honeydew police have seized suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of R300 million during an intelligence-driven operation at a plot in Northriding.
The operation was conducted on Saturday, 12 September 2026, at about 8.30pm after police received information about suspected illicit drug-related activities at the property.
“Members of Honeydew SAPS conducted an operation at a plot in Northriding after receiving information regarding suspected illicit drug-related activities,” the South African Police Service (SAPS) said.
The information was quickly acted on, leading to the recovery of the suspected cocaine.
Police also seized a black Land Cruiser SUV, which was allegedly found displaying false registration numbers and with an allegedly altered Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
“No arrests have been made at this stage,” SAPS said.
Police investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the seizure and identify those allegedly linked to the suspected drugs.
SAPS said it would continue conducting intelligence-driven operations targeting the illicit drug trade and other serious crimes.
“Police will also continue working with other law-enforcement stakeholders and communities to ensure that criminal activities are effectively addressed,” the police said.
