Durban – A family of four, including two young children and a heavily pregnant woman, has been missing for three weeks after reportedly leaving their Durban home for a trip to Pietermaritzburg.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) has appealed to the public for information regarding the whereabouts of 26-year-old Lishen Govender, 33-year-old Jennifer Naicker, and their children, Aryan (3) and Mikaela (6).
Govender last contacted relatives three weeks ago and informed them that he, Naicker and the children were travelling by taxi from their residence on Dr Yusuf Dadoo Street in Durban Central to Pietermaritzburg to visit his grandmother.
Naicker was reportedly about nine months pregnant at the time of their departure.
Relatives said “the family was were expected to arrive at the residence in Pietermaritzburg – KZN but failed to do so. Since then, neither Govender nor Naicker have made further contact with relatives. Family members are also unable to confirm whether Naicker has since given birth”, raising growing concern among family members.
The family has also been unable to establish whether Naicker has since given birth.
Attempts to contact Govender have been unsuccessful, with his cellphone remaining switched off.
RUSA has urged anyone with information that could assist in locating the missing family to contact the organisation on 086 1234 333.
The circumstances surrounding the family’s disappearance remain unclear.
