Johannesburg – Musician and TV personality Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye’s case has been postponed to 24 August for further investigation after his brief appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
Maarohanye, who is out on R5,000 bail, was arrested on 14 June on charges of kidnapping, unlawful discharge of a firearm and defeating the ends of justice.

Police allege he confronted an e-hailing driver in Edenvale, accusing him of having a relationship with his girlfriend, before forcing him into a vehicle and firing a shot in his direction.
The driver reportedly escaped unharmed and later opened a case, leading to Maarohanye’s arrest.

He is expected to return to court as investigations continue. This comes as he has a history of previous legal troubles, including a 2012 conviction linked to a crash that killed four schoolchildren, while separate charges of rape and attempted murder were withdrawn in 2024.
