Three men were shot and killed in a brazen daylight attack inside a McDonald’s in Johannesburg’s CBD on Monday, sparking a triple murder investigation and a manhunt for the gunmen.
According to IOL, police said two masked suspects opened fire on the victims, aged between 30 and 45, while they were having breakfast.
The men are believed to be foreign shop owners, possibly Somali, though this has not yet been confirmed.

Gauteng police spokesperson Noxolo Kweza said the victims were certified dead at the scene and no arrests have been made, EWN reported.
Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni condemned the killings, calling them “senseless” and pledging that no stone would be left unturned in the investigation.
The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police sealed off the area as emergency services responded.
Authorities are probing possible links to turf wars among foreign‑owned businesses, with community leaders warning of escalating violence.
Police have appealed to the public to come forward with any information that could assist detectives, urging reports via the SAPS crime line at 08600 10111 or local stations.
The incident has sparked widespread reaction online, with speculation about organised crime and disputes within immigrant business communities, though these claims remain unverified.
