Cape Town – South African hip-hop artist Refiloe Maele Phoolo, known as Cassper Nyovest, recently shared his profound journey of spiritual evolution, unveiling a newfound relationship with God.
In an interview with Mpoomy Ledwaba on Wisdom and Wellness podcast, Cassper candidly opened up about his struggles with addiction to sex, describing how he felt ensnared by the grasp of the devil.
Reflecting on this period, he said: “I’ve been playing with my life, and the devil had me. He had me so deep. Everything was validated, and I could negotiate why I was doing it.”
He further confessed: “I was addicted to sex, I had such a big ego, I thought I was better than everyone else, but I was humble in the sense that I wouldn’t offend anyone. So, I’m a good person, so anything that I do is fine because I’m a good person.”
However, Cassper recounted experiencing redemption through a profound encounter with God.
“I was headed straight for hell if I didn’t have that wake-up call,” he admitted.
“So, I had an encounter with God. He put me in a place where only He could save me.”
“ I thought I knew God….but the devil had me.”
On tomorrow’s episode, @casspernyovest gets real and vulnerable. We talk addictions, depression and an encounter that saved his life.A conversation for men, for boys, for families.
