Cape Town – Mia le Roux, the historic Miss South Africa 2024 and the nation’s first hearing-impaired titleholder, has announced her engagement to longtime partner Luke Tenoever.
The couple recently shared the joyous news via a heartfelt Instagram post, marking the occasion with a private engagement that celebrated their “bubble” of love before opening the moment to the world.
Mia revealed that they initially chose to keep the engagement private, sharing only recently with the public.
“We got engaged a while ago and treasured our little bubble before sharing it with the world,” she wrote in her announcement post.
“Our hearts are full. We said yes to forever.”

In the emotional tribute to her fiancé, Mia praised Tenoever’s strength and devotion throughout her demanding year as Miss SA.
“Thank you for the immense love, patience and sacrifice you have shown me this year,” she wrote.
“You are my calm, my steady hand, my safe space and the greatest blessing in my life.”
Tenoever has stood by Mia throughout her public journey.
In a previous Instagram post following her Miss SA win, he wrote: “My dearest Miatjie, words cannot express how incredibly proud I am of you. You have handled this journey with so much grace, strength and determination. Winning Miss South Africa is just the beginning.”
