Johannesburg – Spur Corporation has expanded its restaurant portfolio with the launch of Doppio Bistrot at the Nine Yards Precinct in Parktown North, Rosebank.
The restaurant opened in March 2026 and is operated by Biscotti Trading (Pty) Ltd, a majority-owned indirect subsidiary in which Spur Corporation holds a 60% effective interest.
According to BusinessTech, the launch comes as Spur Corporation pursues a strategy of “divesting from retail company-owned stores where appropriate”, as outlined in its 2026 annual financial report.
Doppio Bistrot marks a new corporate-backed investment for the group, with Spur Corporation funding the restaurant’s full fit-out and entering into new property lease agreements for the Nine Yards site.
Doppio Bistrot is the latest concept from Doppio Zero, with the new restaurant adopting a more relaxed and lifestyle-focused approach.
Located at the Nine Yards Precinct, the restaurant moves away from the traditional café atmosphere associated with the brand and instead aims for a more laid-back dining experience.
According to YoMZansi, the restaurant’s design features an airy, open-plan feel, with high ceilings, hanging lamps and clean décor intended to create a modern but welcoming environment.
The venue offers both indoor seating and an outdoor area, making it suitable for everything from quick coffee stops to longer meetings and catch-ups.
The menu is designed to cover a broad range of occasions, combining bakery staples and breakfast options with more substantial lunch and dinner offerings.
Guests can choose from wood-fired pizzas, handmade pastas and a selection of mains, giving the restaurant a more elevated dining proposition while retaining the flexibility of a café.
The concept is designed to move between bakery, café and full-service restaurant, making it suitable for morning meetings, casual lunches and early evening meals.
The opening of Doppio Bistrot adds another concept to Spur Corporation’s portfolio as the group continues to explore opportunities within the restaurant market.
