Cape Town – Oscar Mbo faced backlash on social media after posting a video of himself and his son preparing for his mother’s funeral over the Mother’s Day weekend.
The DJ recently lost his mother and buried her on Mother’s Day.
He shared a video on Instagram showing himself and his son getting ready for the funeral.
Oscar captioned the post: “laying our Queen to rest on Mother’s Day. ❤️🩹 together through thick & thin, the Lord shall provide.”

In an earlier post, Oscar Mbo shared a childhood picture with his mother and reflected on the impact she had on his life.

“woah. 💔 you loved all of us so loud, you taught us how to pray, how to share and how to express ourselves. I thank God for your amazing life that you shared with us Mama,” he wrote.
He also thanked her for the support she gave him throughout his career and said he was “shattered” by her passing.

However, some users on X criticised the house music producer for documenting moments surrounding his mother’s funeral, accusing him of turning the occasion into content for social media.
