Cape Town – South African actress Shoki Mmola has received backlash after she shared pictures of herself at a petrol station, wearing a bikini.
Popularly known for her role as Celia Kunutu in South Africa’s soapie Skeem Saam, Shoki took to her social media to flaunt her “summer body”.
She shared snaps of herself posing in a bikini and flip-flops while filling up her car with petrol.
“Had to stop here. Too much traffic,” Shoki wrote in an Instagram post.

Shoki’s post quickly gained a lot of attention, with most South Africans condemning her for “public indecency”.
Some speculated that she was having a midlife crisis.
According to The Citizen, after her divorce, the 44-year-old mother of two has been living a healthier lifestyle and working out on a regular basis.
Take a look at some of the Twitter reactions below:
But this is public indecency. She’s in a petrol station and not at the beach or by the pool. We cannot be justifying it by saying “she’s confident/having fun”, there are so many ways for one to show how confident they are in their skin. Pls.

The way people are justifying this bullshit, guys this thing is called public indecency and she can be arrested for this bullshit.
You being comfortable in your body does not mean you should go around like this. https://t.co/HXveZEJqJy
