Cape Town – Springbok lock RG Snyman and his wife, Saskia, have welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Rooks Rose.
Saskia announced the birth on Instagram, sharing photographs of their newborn daughter with followers.
“Rooks Rose 🤍 She’s here, and she’s perfect,” she wrote.
The couple, who have largely kept their private life away from the spotlight, have not shared many details about their family life, making the announcement a rare glimpse into a personal milestone.

The arrival comes as Snyman continues his recovery from a serious knee injury that has kept him out of rugby during 2026.
Snyman has been based in Ireland since joining Munster in 2020 before moving to Leinster in 2024.
The 31-year-old suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee while playing for Leinster against Glasgow Warriors in March. Leinster subsequently confirmed that the injury would rule him out for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
It is the third ACL injury of Snyman’s career, adding to a lengthy history of injury setbacks.
The latest injury has also ruled him out of the Springboks’ 2026 campaign, with reports indicating that he is expected to return to international rugby in 2027.
For now, however, Snyman has another milestone to celebrate away from the rugby field.
The double Rugby World Cup winner and Saskia are settling into life as first-time parents with their daughter, Rooks Rose.
