Cape Town – Rachel Kolisi has revealed how a Woolworths Dash delivery driver came to her rescue after she ran out of petrol in heavy traffic earlier this week.
According to The South African, the author and director shared the experience in an Instagram Story on Friday, 30 October, explaining that she attempted to push her car off the road but was unable to because of a shoulder injury.
She said the delivery driver was the only person who stopped to assist her, describing him as an “absolute angel”.
“I also ran out of petrol in prem traffic this week. I tried pushing my car off the road but shoulder was like sorry sis, not happening,” she wrote.

“This man on the bike was the only person to stop and help me. He works for @woolworths_sa and my goodness an absolute angel,” she added.
Meanwhile, Kolisi is preparing to take her Falling Forward project to London on 19 November.
The project explores healing, self-discovery and rebuilding life after difficult experiences through a documentary, memoir and screening roadshow.
Announcing the London event, she reflected on the pressures women face to remain strong even when struggling.
“Being a woman shouldn’t mean carrying everything and making it look easy. We’re told to be strong, to be resilient and to keep going. But it’s also okay if that weight feels too heavy sometimes. You don’t have to carry it alone,” she wrote.
She added: “London, you’re in for a treat. These are the kinds of honest conversations you can look forward to at Falling Forward on the 19th of November 🤍.”
