Cape Town – Media personality and singer Nandi Madida celebrated her husband, Grammy Award-winning musician and producer Zakes Bantwini, with a heartfelt birthday tribute and a luxurious Rolex-inspired cake that caught the attention of fans on social media.
The eye-catching cake was designed to resemble a luxury green Rolex watch box, complete with a gold Rolex-inspired watch placed neatly in the centre on a white cushion. Inside the lid was a stylish cut-out image of Zakes Bantwini confidently seated while holding a Rolex book next to the iconic Rolex logo, adding to the elegant theme. At the bottom of the cake was a personalised message that read: “Time waits for no man. Happy Birthday Zakes.”
Nandi also shared a touching Instagram message celebrating her husband and reflecting on his journey, achievements and legacy.

Zakes Bantwini, whose real name is Zakhele Madida, is one of South Africa’s most celebrated music producers and performers. Over the years, he has built a successful career in the entertainment industry with hit songs and acclaimed live performances that have earned him both local and international recognition. In 2023, he made history after winning a Grammy Award for Best Global Music Performance for the hit song Bayethe alongside Nomcebo Zikode and Wouter Kellerman.

The Osama hitmaker also took to social media to celebrate his birthday by sharing a picture of the luxurious cake. Keeping his message short and confident, he wrote: “Happy birthday to me. This is my time.”
