Gauteng – The Gauteng Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) has arrested a second suspect in connection with the murder of 44-year-old Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) member Monica Dube.
Dube was shot and killed in the presence of her family at her home in Wallmannsthal in June 2026.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the latest arrest followed an intelligence-driven investigation that linked a 39-year-old man to the murder.
“Following an intelligence-driven investigation, investigators positively linked another suspect, a 39-year-old male,” SAPS said in a statement.
The suspect was arrested by the PKTT on Tuesday evening and is expected to appear before the Cullinan Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, where he will face a charge of murder.
The arrest follows the earlier arrest of Sipho Mahlangu in July 2026.
“Mahlangu has made several appearances before the Cullinan Magistrate’s Court and remains in police custody,” SAPS said.
The latest development brings the number of suspects arrested in connection with Dube’s murder to two as investigators continue with the case.
