Greylands, KwaZulu-Natal – Police are investigating the death of a woman who was found unresponsive at her home in Greylands on Monday after an alleged domestic dispute with her husband the previous evening.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), officers were called to the property after the homeowner requested assistance when the woman’s body was discovered.
“A woman was found dead at a residence in Greylands – KZN today (Monday, 27/07/2026) after an alleged domestic dispute was reported at the property yesterday evening,” RUSA said in a statement.
“According to information gathered at the scene, the woman and her husband had allegedly been involved in an argument and physical altercation yesterday evening.”
Neighbours reported the couple had experienced similar incidents in the past.

“It was further reported that similar incidents had occurred previously and that the couple regularly consumed alcohol.”
Concern grew after the woman was not seen on Monday morning, prompting the property owner’s father and another tenant to check on her.
“Concerned after the woman was not seen this morning, the property owner’s father, accompanied by another tenant, conducted a wellness check at the residence. They entered the home and discovered her lying motionless on a bed in a bedroom,” RUSA said.
Paramedics declared the woman dead at the scene after examining her.
“Paramedics from Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) examined the woman and observed slight bruising to her face and the right side of her chest. An open bottle of tablets was also located in the room.”
RUSA said the cause of death has not yet been established.
“The cause of death has not been established. Her husband could also not be located.”
Police are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death. No arrests have been reported.
