According to Reaction Unit South Africa, the robbery was reported at about 2.33am after four armed suspects allegedly stormed the property through an unlocked door.
Reaction officers said the family had been praying at around 12.30am when the intruders entered the house. Three of the suspects were reportedly armed with handguns.
The robbers allegedly held five women and one man at gunpoint before tying them up using shoelaces and a gown rope while they searched the home for valuables.
One of the victims was allegedly forced to unlock her cellphone, allowing the suspects to transfer R35 000 from her bank account electronically.
The suspects reportedly kept the family under guard for about two hours before fleeing the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
Items stolen during the robbery included an Apple iPhone 15, a Samsung Galaxy A06, a Honor X5 and the electronically transferred cash.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
