Cape Town – Actress Connie Ferguson has paid a moving tribute to her late husband, Shona Ferguson, on what would have been his 52nd birthday, sharing an intimate video that captures the warmth and humour that defined their relationship.
In the clip, the couple are seen laughing, chatting and sharing a light-hearted moment, a glimpse into the deep bond they carried both on and off screen.
Accompanying the video, Ferguson opened up about the emotional weight of the week, revealing how much she and their children continue to feel his absence.
“This week has been especially challenging… it’s been an emotional roller coaster! The kids and I have been talking a lot about you,” she wrote.
Reflecting on their enduring connection, she added that she speaks about him and feels his presence in her daily life. “You’re so much a part of me, the fact that it’s almost five years since your departure does not even register.”

The couple, who were married for two decades after tying the knot in 2001, built not only a life together but a formidable legacy in South Africa’s entertainment industry. Through their production company, Ferguson Films, they helped bring hit television productions such as The Queen and Kings of Joburg to screens, shaping the local acting landscape and creating opportunities for countless performers.
Their on-screen chemistry and off-screen partnership made them one of the country’s most admired couples, with shared milestones that extended beyond acting into business success and cultural influence.
Shona Ferguson passed away on 30 July 2021 due to Covid-19-related complications, a loss that sent shockwaves across the nation. Yet, nearly five years later, Connie’s tribute reflects a love that remains vivid and ever-present.
“Your memory is still so vivid… I laugh a lot when I think about you. Yes, there are tears sometimes, but laughter is guaranteed,” she wrote. “Thank you, Sho, for a love that transcends space and time… Happy Heavenly Birthday, my KING.”
Her words, paired with the candid video, offer a poignant reminder that while time may pass, some bonds remain unbroken rooted in memory, love and a shared legacy that continues to live on.
