WATCH | Bellarmine Mugabe being deported after paying R600,000 fine

Bellarmine

Johannesburg – Bellarmine Mugabe, son of former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe, has been deported back to Zimbabwe after settling a hefty R600,000 fine.

Mugabe, along with his cousin Tobias Matonhodze, appeared before the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning. While Mugabe secured his release through the fine payment, Matonhodze was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment.

The case drew significant public attention due to Mugabe’s high-profile family ties and the scale of the financial penalty.

Court officials confirmed that deportation proceedings were finalised immediately after the fine was paid.

Matonhodze, however, will serve his sentence in South Africa.
