Polokwane – Police in Limpopo have arrested a 54-year-old man accused of raping four children aged between seven and nine in Manoge village, Seleteng, under the Lebowakgomo policing area.
According to the South African Police Service, the incident allegedly took place on Thursday, 16 April 2026, between 09:00 and 11:00.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the children were playing together when they went to visit the suspect’s home, located a few houses away.
It is alleged that the man took two of the children inside the house and raped them before releasing them. The remaining two children were then also called inside and allegedly raped.
The Lebowakgomo Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit took over the investigation and moved swiftly to arrest the suspect.
He is expected to appear before the Lebowakgomo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 20 April 2026, facing four counts of rape.
Limpopo Provincial Commissioner Thembi Hadebe condemned the incident and welcomed the arrest.
“It is disturbing to learn that some people who are supposed to be entrusted with protecting and looking after children, tend to be perpetrators and we will stop at nothing to make sure such people face the full might of the law,” said Hadebe.
