Washington – The United States said Wednesday it was letting diplomats leave Nigeria’s capital Abuja as security deteriorates in the country.
The State Department said in a notice it was authorizing “non-emergency US government employees and US government employee family members to leave US embassy Abuja due to the deteriorating security situation.”
The State Department continued to encourage Americans to reconsider going to Nigeria due to risks including kidnappings and other crime.
