Cape Town – CAF has announced the 28 referees selected to officiate at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, which kicks off on 21 December.
The list features top officials from across the continent and, according to CAF, reflects the “pursuit of excellence” needed for a world-class tournament.
A key highlight is Uganda’s Shamira Nabadda, the only woman appointed, who will represent female referees at just 30 years old.

The selected officials come from a wide spread of countries, including Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Ghana, South Africa, Senegal, Kenya, DRC, Ivory Coast and others, underscoring CAF’s continental diversity.
South Africa’s sole representative on the list is Abongile Tom.
