Cape Town – Family members of the late former South African ambassador to France, Nathi Mthethwa, have voiced their frustration over the manner in which they were informed of his death.
Mthethwa was found dead near the Hyatt Hotel in Paris on Monday.
French police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Mthethwa’s family, while stunned by the news of his shocking death, have voiced out their concerns about not receiving formal communication regarding the incident.
According to EWN, the late ambassador’s uncle, Musawokuphila Mthethwa said, “We were supposed to be informed first, so that we could properly arrange ourselves to face the situation.”
While another uncle of his added, “We are not happy about this matter. It broke our hearts that we heard on the news before being officially informed.”

In an interview with SABC News, his brother expressed the family’s frustration over how the situation was handled, particularly their learning of his death through social media rather than through any official communication.
