Cape Town – President Cyril Ramaphosa has returned to South Africa after a working visit to the United States, which included a tense Oval Office meeting with US President Donald Trump.
While the trip was described by the Presidency as “productive,” the meeting with Trump turned confrontational.
Trump pushed discredited claims of a “white genocide” in South Africa, showcasing misleading imagery to support his assertions.

Ramaphosa calmly rejected these claims, asserting that there were no racially targeted land grabs or violence against white farmers and emphasised the need for accurate understanding of South Africa’s broader violence issues.
He also invited US participation in the upcoming South African-hosted G20 summit in November.
