Pretoria – Cross-examination of suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya continues at the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria, where he is being questioned about his role in disbanding the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT).
The PKTT was dissolved in December 2024 by Police Minister Senzo Mchunu.

Sibiya testified that National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola and PKTT head Dumisani Khumalo did not express opposition to the move, despite both previously claiming they were caught off guard.
The controversial disbandment, considered unlawful, is central to corruption allegations being probed by the commission, which is investigating claims of political interference and criminal syndicate infiltration within law enforcement agencies.
