Watch as embattled Police Minister Senzo Mchunu returns to Parliament on Tuesday to continue defending his decision to disband the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) before the ad hoc committee investigating police corruption and interference.
Currently on leave, Mchunu denies any links to organised crime or criminally implicated individuals, insisting that his directive was lawful and constitutionally empowered.
He also refutes claims made by KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, saying his decision was not influenced by external parties.
The committee will additionally review recorded conversations between Mchunu’s chief of staff and Mkhwanazi, in which the commissioner allegedly threatened the staff member.
