Cape Town – Parliament’s Police and Justice committees are meeting to finalise the terms of reference for an ad hoc committee that will investigate national security concerns.
This follows National Assembly Speaker Thoko Didiza’s directive to urgently address claims by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi about high-level political interference in the SAPS.
The committees had earlier agreed to recommend the formation of the ad hoc committee and are expected to report back to Parliament by Wednesday.
