Pretoria – ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula has condemned businessman Brown Mogotsi, exposed at the Madlanga Commission for using his ANC connections to solicit money from criminals, some of which allegedly funded party activities.
WhatsApp evidence showed Mogotsi received large sums from businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala in exchange for protection and access to SAPS documents.
Mbalula distanced the ANC from such figures, labelling them “comrade tsotsis” and warning that the party will not tolerate or protect members engaged in criminality.
“I can tell you we will never associate ourselves with characters like Brown Mogotsi if he’s a member of the ANC and his activities.
Mbalula is saying ANC will never associate itself with brown mogotsi who is a member of ANC and close associate of Senzo Mchunu.

“He must account for that, and the ANC will stand up to such characters who pride themselves openly and publicly about the pride of being involved in things that do not raise the name of the ANC in good standing.”
He acknowledged that money has corrupted ANC processes, likening today’s infiltration by criminal elements to similar challenges during the anti-apartheid struggle.
With elections approaching, the revelations intensify pressure on the ANC to root out corruption.
Mbalula stressed that individuals like Mogotsi must be held accountable and that the ANC will discipline any members who tarnish its name.
