Cape Town – Parliament’s ad hoc committee investigating corruption allegations linked to the South African Police Service will hear testimony from suspended Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) deputy chief Julius Mkhwanazi on Thursday and Friday.
Mkhwanazi, the fourth witness to appear before the committee in 2026, faces accusations of corruption and mismanagement during his tenure at the EMPD.
The allegations include claims that he signed a questionable memorandum allowing Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala to fit blue lights to his vehicles.
