Cape Town – The MK Party in KwaZulu-Natal has warned of mass mobilisation and potential unrest if provincial police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi faces persecution after making serious allegations about criminal syndicates infiltrating law enforcement.
Mkhwanazi implicated Police Minister Senzo Mchunu and other top police officials.
MK Party members, including ex-combatants, marched to the provincial police headquarters on Monday, in support of Mkhwanazi, demanding his protection.

The party submitted a memorandum to Gauteng police leadership.
It said that it was acting to combat crime and corruption.
“We will rise and mobilise the community, and we will ensure that we just go as people, and we are many than the police officers – they can’t control us and all the people,” EWN quoted the party’s Lwazi Mzobe as saying.
While Mkhwanazi appreciated the support, he urged peaceful protests, the report said.
