Durban – The trial of uMkhonto weSizwe MP Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla resumes at the Durban High Court on Monday.
She faces two counts of public violence and one of incitement to commit terrorism over the July 2021 unrest that left more than 400 people dead and caused widespread looting in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
The State alleges she used her X social media account to incite the violence.
The trial, entering its second week, saw the State present evidence that her posts encouraged terror and looting, including testimony from Police Major General Gopal Govender, who investigated the social media activity. Zuma-Sambudla, 43, pleads not guilty.
